Easy Cast Iron Pizza? Yes Please!
When you live in a tiny home you often find the easiest way to create your favorite meals, this is how cast iron pizza came into my life. My husband is a pizza lover but making pizza in an RV, using all of the tools, laying out the dough, etc. can often seem way more complicated than we need it to be. With this recipe, you can have your pizza and eat it too!
You only need a few ingredients, a bowl, and a cast iron pan to make probably the best pizza you'll ever have, so let's get it!
Prep Time: 1hr (includes resting time)
Cook Time: 12-15 minutes
¾ cup warm water
2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
1 tsp organic sugar
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp olive oil
2 cups all-purpose flour
The last ingredient is your chosen pizza toppings, so choose all of your favorite things and set them aside. First, let's prepare the dough.
Add water, yeast, and sugar to a bowl, stir, and let sit until foamy (5-10 minutes).
Now add your salt & olive oil, mix.
Add your flour and stir to combine.
Knead your dough about ten times and then put it back in your bowl, drizzle with olive oil and let rise one hour.
Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees.
After an hour, punch your dough down, remove it from the bowl, and transfer it to a pre-oiled cast iron. Stretch the dough to fit over the bottom of your cast iron, add your ingredients, and bake for 12-15 minutes (I take mine out at about the 13-minute mark).
Voila! Easy, cast iron pizza that is incredibly fluffy and delicious. This recipe is also so fast and simple that making your comfort food is as easy as 1,2,3.
